Sports Governence - No Idle Threat

Shockwaves are being felt through publicly funded sports NGBs this week after Table Tennis lost its Sport England funding last week as a consequence of not being able to meet the requirements of the new Governance Code.

A Challenging Week for Sport

With so much good news about the performance of sport and the positive messages about the social impact of sport it is all too easy to forget the 'dark side' of the sports world. The Growth of Activity Sector

We all use the term 'sector' to describe what we think is the sport, recreation, physical activity and wellbeing sector. In our experience whilst they are different things to providers they are all part of a sector to the consumer. As a Sports Think Tank we are not constrained by our title and we hope increasingly the 4-500,000 of us who work across this vibrant sector will break down these barriers.

Europe and Sport Policy

It has been a long and often acrimonious European Referendum campaign which thankfully comes to an end on Thursday. The ramifications of the vote however will last a lot longer whatever the result.

Throughout most of the campaign sport has not really played a huge part and it hardly likely that many people will be making a decision on Thursday 23rd June based on the outcome for sport alone.

As an Independent Think Tank we have tried to stimulate a little thinking around the big ticket issues.
