Venue: Manchester Central

ukactive has launched a brand new multi-day celebration of physical activity, Active Uprising, to replace the Flame Conference and Awards. It's a radical evolution from Flame's traditional celebration of the best in the fitness sector and aims to position the UK at the epicentre of the global physical activity movement.

Active Uprising will bring together over 1000 leading decision makers for a festival of insight, debate and action across Greater Manchester from 20th – 23rd June 2018.

The jam-packed schedule includes events dedicated to networking, insight and innovation, as well as well as a celebration of pioneers overcoming the biggest barriers to physical activity.

The Active Uprising Conference will take place on 21st June at Manchester Central, combining must-attend keynotes from leaders in business, politics and media with a varied agenda that includes the return of Ignite, a series of educational leadership workshops for ambitious general managers.

Innovation and technology will take centre stage with the culmination of the ActiveLab Start-up Accelerator Programme, which will see the world's most promising fit-tech disruptors battle it out in a live-pitch competition.

The ukactive Awards on the evening of the 21st June will recognise excellence and innovation across the sector, revealing winners across a raft of categories specially created to celebrate achievements across all areas of the continuously evolving physical activity sphere.

The Awards are currently open for entries. New categories include New Concept, Build or Design of the Year and the ukactive Inclusion and Disability Award, as well as individual honours such as Unsung Hero and Outstanding Leader of the Year. The entry deadline is Wednesday 28th March. For more details on the categories and how to enter click here.

And that's not all… Active Uprising will conclude with action to match the words of the preceding days, mobilising schools, workplaces and community leisure facilities across Greater Manchester on 22nd and 23rd June, getting people moving with an array of activities. ukactive will work with local partners and regional government to throw open their doors and engage local communities, offering a range of free events that will get thousands of people on the move.
