The Governance Tipping Point

Founder of sports governance consultancy I Trust Sport, Rowland Jack argues in this recent article that we could be on the cusp of a major catastrophe in sports governance, one that could spell major changes in the sport landscape. As STT heard at Sports Business Week at Birkbeck University recently, scandals and bad practice are rife in many sports' governing bodies, to the point where commentators were speculating that reversing the deeply entrenched cultures of management corruption may take decades, or may even be impossible. The consensus was that, at best, we can hope for only small, incremental changes for the better.
