Study highlights economic benefits of active transport

A study by the University of California has found that cities with greater active transport infrastructures that encourage more walking and cycling are more productive, have higher property values, a healthier population and greater educational performance. The study follows findings that cycling investment in the city of Portland, USA could save as much as $40 billion by 2040 in public health costs.
