Key Findings from the 'Taking Part' survey

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has published an analysis of findings from the Taking Part survey. Key outcomes from the research can be found in a summary near the beginning of the document and most notably include the finding that people who had engaged in moderate intensity sport or physical activity in the four weeks prior to the research were significantly happier than those who hadn't.

The findings support the inclusion of these measures in the Office of National Statistics' national well-being research programme and reinforce the message from the wider sociological and psychological evidence-base demonstrating the strong links between general well-being and participation in sport and physical activity.
