On Wednesday members of the House of Lords debated an amendment to the Policing and Crime Bill, which would see doping in sport criminalised along the lines of legislation in other countries such as New Zealand, Austria, Italy, France, Holland, Sweden, Mexico and China. The amendment would see the law extended beyond professional and elite sport, to any organised competition affiliated to a recognised governing body.
