Who
should win Sports Personality of the Year 2006?
An
Empirical Study
sportsthinktank.com
has published original research aimed at demonstrating which sportsperson
deserves,
on the basis of their sporting achievement,
to be crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2006. Taking into
account factors such as individual achievement, depth and strength
of domestic and international competition, and the main sporting accomplishment
itself, sportsthintank.com has determined that cyclist Nicole Cook
deserves to win the competition. The report analyses the BBC’s
approach to the competition, and makes recommendations for putting
the sport back into Sports Personality of the Year.
