New Chairs Required

Today DCMS have formally announced that the merger of Sport Engkand and UK Sport will no longer be taking place and advertised for the two new Chairs to replace Sue Campbell and Richard Lewis..

Clearly here at the Think Tank we are deeply interested in the process and recruitment as we know these are key appointments in delivering the governments objectives. We also know what happens when a Chair doesn't agree with the Minister when Derek Mapp resigned/ was sacked?!

Over the coming days we will look at the process of appointment, who are likely to be in the running and what sort of relationship they are likely to have with the government. We also will look at the changing nature of the relationship between government and NDPBs and see how close they are to government. We ask the question of you our readers - should these bodies be the voice of sport to the government or bodies that deliver the government agenda to the sector? This process allows us fee space to air these fundamental questions and spark a lively debate -
We hope!
