New at the Sports Think Tank for Autumn

Although we have been quiet on the website here at the Sports Think Tank over the amazing summer of sport it doesn't mean we haven't been busy. We have been keeping you up to date with thoughts and observations on major policy changes as well as our keeping up to date our regular updates on Research we have come across in the sector.

The main reason we have been a little quitter than usual is the work we have been putting in behind the scenes to completely overhaul the website, our branding, our membership offers as well as new branding. We have been busy planning for a series of #STTRoundtables as we step up the partnerships we have with Loughborough University and the Institute of Sport Business and London Sport. The first will be held in October at the new House of Sport set up by London Sport in the heart of London.

Our season of Round Tables starts with a look into the Duty of Care Report from Tanni Grey-Thompson and what it means for grassroots sport. We know that much of the attention since the publication of the Report has been on elite athletes and safeguarding, but the report calls for a wider cultural emphasis in sport on the broader definition of Duty of Care. We will explore what that might mean for the sector.

We will also be following up our work on Duty of Care with a Report and continually working with DCMS and other partners on the implications of #Brexit on Sport.

On top of these exciting new events and partnerships we are revamping our Advisory Board and our wider support group. We know we only exist to serve the sport through the support of our many friends across the sector who make it possible to create a safe environment to promote thought leadership. That's why we are looking to create a team of regular contributors for blogs, and opinion Pieces. We will be producing a series of 'Discussion Documents' which set out what areas of thinking and research we need for the development of policy fit for 2020.

Finally, we will be sending out a regular weekly summary from our website on the news, events, blogs and Thought Pieces to help you get involved. We would love you to sign up for our email to be the first to hear about our news and events.

Thanks for all your help and support so far. We look forward to engaging with you as we move into the next phase of our development.
