Public Health England has published the results of a public opinion survey, including the finding that obesity is the third most concerning health issue among those polled, after cancer and dementia. Drug abuse and smoking were found to be of equal concern to obesity.

The survey consists of the results from over 1,600 interviews and also includes data on public awareness and knowledge of Public Health England, its role and activities, and levels of public confidence and trust in the organisation. PHE also simultaneously published updated factsheets on obesity and its determinants.
