The major political parties this week unveiled their election manifestos. While none of the documents dedicate substantial space to sport policy, a variety of issues are mentioned including school sport, for which the Conservatives and Labour Party pledge to achieve a minimum of 2 hours physical education and sport per week for every pupil. The Labour and Liberal Democrat manifestos both state intentions to address the issue of supporter-influence with regards to football teams, while the Conservative Party reveals its ambition for the UK to host a team from one of the major American sports leagues.
