Latest Cornonavirus advice from Sport England

This is no ordinary time, and we're all facing huge challenges. We're committed to being as supportive as we can to the sport and physical activity sector, and doing all we can to help people stay active in this new normal.

The latest advice - Monday 11th May

Latest government guidance

On 10 May, the government confirmed changes to what's allowed in relation to sport and physical activity as part of the next phase of its response to the Covid-19 outbreak. It's been confirmed that from Wednesday 13 May:

  • People can go outside more than once a day for exercise if they're following social distancing guidelines, are alone or with members of their household
  • Some sports will be able to restart and reopen from Wednesday 13 May. The government will provide more detail in the coming days, but these will be outdoor sports only that can safely operate under the guidelines, including with relevant social distancing. We'll share more detail as soon as it's confirmed. People will only be able to take part in activity or sport alone or with members of their household.

We're working with the government to help the public and the sector understand how these changes will take effect and we'll publish and share more information as soon as it's available.
