Annual Disability and Activity Survey 2022-23 launch date confirmed

Almost 2,000 people took part in the survey from August to November last year. Since then, we've been working with disabled people and key partners to explore the data. It gives detailed insight into disabled people's perceptions and experiences of sport and activity since last year and before the pandemic.

The project complements Sport England's Active Lives Adult Survey, helping us understand why disabled people are still twice as likely to be inactive as non-disabled people.

This year, our report covers new topics that disabled people told us were most important to them. It will include detail on how being active is affected by:

  • Personal finances and the rising cost-of-living.
  • Physical health and healthcare professionals.
  • Mental health and wellbeing.
  • Co-production, influence, and representation.

We will also release a separate report shortly after, created with the Get Out Get Active programme's local partners. This explores how other demographic factors relate to disabled people's access to and experience of being active. This will be followed by a report exploring differences between disabled people with different types of impairment.
