Sports Think Tank Resumes Activity: Monitoring the Road through 2026

The Sports Think Tank, the UK's fully independent body dedicated to insightful sporting policy, is officially resuming its work following a brief pause after the 2024 General Election. Led by Andy Reed OBE and Mark Balcar, the organisation is shifting its focus towards 2026, monitoring the implementation and progress of sports policy in the wake of the new government's arrival.

Central to this next phase is the continued promotion of the ideas found within their 2024 Election Manifesto, which originally collated 100 transformative ideas from 29 different sport, physical activity, and wellbeing organisations. The Think Tank will continue to advocate for a comprehensive policy agenda that spans the entire sector—from "Play" at the grassroots level to "Podium" success on the world stage.

As a voluntary-led organisation that relies on the support of its user community, the Sports Think Tank is now issuing a call for new collaborators. To successfully monitor the government's "Get Active" strategy and other evolving policies, they are seeking partners, writers, sponsors, and bloggers who are passionate about shaping the future of UK sport.

How to Get Involved If you or your organisation would like to support this work through financial partnership or by contributing expert insights to the blog and research output, please contact the team at Talk@sportshtinktank.com.
