About This Report:
This report was commissioned by the District Councils' Network, with the aim of evidencing the health economic value of their members' leisure and wellbeing services, and the further impact they could potentially have on reducing health inequalities. It includes estimates of the potential impact of increasing physical activity on health, the healthcare sector, and the wider economy. It demonstrates the potential benefits that accrue from introducing a sustainable programme of physical activity for a cohort of otherwise inactive adults. The analysis was completed using a Sport England approved Model for estimating the Outcomes and Values in the Economics of Sport (MOVES).
