The F Word - Learning Through Failure

The F Word - Learning Through Failure

Date: Fri, 19 Oct 2018, 09:00 - 17:00

Venue: London City Hall

Across the Third Sector we spend a lot of time celebrating our success, highlighting the stories of social change and demonstrating the fantastic impact we have made. But failure is our F-word. A word that is never discussed in the company of our peers and funders. We never talk about the things that went wrong. The things we tried that didn't work. The risks we took that didn't pan out. And, more importantly, what we learnt from it. How we changed our approach or our processes. If we really want to learn from each other and help our sector grow, then we should be sharing failure reports not just impact reports! Failure is not a dirty word … as the old adage goes; FAIL is the First Attempt In Learning.

On October 19th, hosted at London's City Hall, home of the Mayor of London, The F Word Event will be exploring failures across a range of themes and sectors, pulling in experts and inspirational speakers to share their stories and different approaches to addressing failure within their own organisations. The event will host intimate workshops and roundtables throughout the day to explore the concept of failure and what we can learn from it. On the day, delegates will also hear from key influencers from government, sport and the wider third sector who will be open and honest about their failures.
