Venue: Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham

YOUR PATIENT, YOUR ATHLETE AND YOU!

Mental Health & Exercise

The conference will focus on mental health and exercise, in particular, the benefit that physical activity can have our mental wellbeing. Open to health practitioners and students, who wish to advance their knowledge about the interactions between exercise and mental health, and how our mental health influences our physical health.

Why Mental Health and Physical Activity?

Mental Health problems are one of the main health burdens of modern-day life. With 1 in 4 adults and 1 in 10 children having experienced mental illness during their lifetime, it is easy to see why. Physical Activity has increasingly been shown to play a beneficial role in both the prevention and treatment of common mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety. Participation in the regular activity has a huge potential to enhance our wellbeing, thus increasing our mental alertness, energy and positive mood. The conference aims to update you on the latest evidence in this area as well as providing practical insights around how to implement this into your practice; supporting Your Patient, Your Athlete and You!
